Gypsy Rose Blanchard and husband Ryan Anderson have split three months after her release from prison. The breakup announcement was posted on Gypsy's private Facebook account.
“My husband and I are going through a separation, so I moved in with my parents down the bayou," she wrote. I have the support of my loved ones to guide me, as I learn to listen to my heart. Currently, I need time to discover my true self.
She seemed to be talking about her father, Rod Blanchard, and stepmom Kristy. Gypsy was released from prison in Dec 2023 after 7 years for her mother's murder. While incarcerated, she had ties to Anderson. He sent her a letter in 2020, and they got married in 2022.
After her release from prison, Gypsy started an Instagram account and provided an update on her relationship with Anderson as a free woman. Gypsy's Instagram account is now deleted.
"We love each other, no obligations to anyone else." Family matters. Likes and good comments are great, but hate doesn't matter since THEY DON'T MATTER. I love you 💕. They're jealous because you rock my world every night 🔥. Happy wife, happy life ❤️.
Before marrying Anderson, Gypsy was in a relationship with Nicholas Godejohn. In 2015, they were both arrested when Gypsy's mother, Dee Dee, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in their Missouri home. She was 48.
Dee Dee allegedly abused her daughter, claiming publicly that Gypsy had numerous medical conditions, including leukemia, muscular dystrophy, brain damage, seizures, and impaired vision and hearing. It was believed that Dee Dee had Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a psychological disorder where a caregiver seeks attention through those they care for, according to WebMD.
Because of this, Gypsy also believed she had to use a wheelchair and feeding tube. After Dee Dee's death, Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, having planned the crime with Godejohn. In 2016, she received a 10-year prison sentence.
Gypsy was granted parole in September 2023 and released in December of the same year. Gypsy and Dee Dee's story was well-documented on TV, including HBO's 2017 documentary Mommy Dead and Dearest and the 2019 Hulu miniseries The Act.
