Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn and husband Christian Richard's marriage has been strained. "Christine feels controlled by Christian throughout their relationship," an insider reveals. "He disliked her focus on sex appeal, so Christine would often lie about her partnerships and photoshoots to avoid upsetting Christian. Quinn, 35, and Richard garnered attention recently when Richard was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon."
TMZ reported that Richard allegedly threw glass at Quinn, missing her and hitting their two-year-old son, Christian. Richard was arrested again for returning to Quinn's home, violating the restraining order obtained against him after his first arrest, according to law enforcement sources. Richard filed a restraining order on Mar 26, stating he threw a bag at the wall, not at Quinn. He also claimed the bag had rags and paper towels, not glass. Sources reveal Quinn intends to divorce him soon due to his repeated violent behavior.
The source says Christine has felt unsafe and distressed in the toxic environment for several months. The road ahead for them is difficult, with restraining orders and disagreement regarding their son's plans. Christine claimed Richard faked a suicide attempt in September 2023. "[Christian] got angry at me, asking why I had to work and claiming he was providing for everything," she claimed in court papers. "That night, in our hotel room, I witnessed [Christian] hastily swallow a bunch of pills, causing some to scatter and fall on the floor, while insisting he was dying. She said: "After what seemed like an hour of Christian going in and out of consciousness and me being scared, he suddenly seemed sober again and said, 'You passed the test, you truly love me.'" Quinn also mentioned that Richard had a "rampage" when she expressed her dissatisfaction with their relationship.
She claimed Richard threw "dog feces" at her and urinated on the floor. Despite marital issues, a second source said Christine was "in great spirits" at the Xerjoff perfume launch party on March 27. The insider shared that she was happily mingling and taking photos all night, appearing unbothered and in a great mood. "Christine smiled and laughed all night, while her former Selling Sunset costars, Nicole Young and Davina Potratz, showed their support." Quinn left the show in 2022 after season 5. She appeared happy to see and hang out with them. "They both gave Christine a supportive hug," said the insider. Quinn and Richard married in December 2019 after less than a year of dating.
