Sydney Sweeney Teases That 'Euphoria' Season 3 Will Restart 'Fairly Soon' With 'Exciting' Plot Twists

Sydney Sweeney has given us hope about the potential timeline for Euphoria season 3. She teased that it will be wild and filming will start soon. Sweeney stars as Cassie Howard on HBO's Euphoria, a key character since 2019's season 1. The highly anticipated second season premiered in 2022, leaving fans wanting more.

Euphoria season 3, originally set for a 2025 release, experienced major delays due to various factors. Creator Sam Levinson was occupied with his short-lived series The Idol, and stars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, and Sweeney were busy with other projects. The 2023 strikes worsened the production hiatus. In March, an HBO spokesperson confirmed commitment to producing season 3 with Levinson. The statement added, "We are allowing our cast to pursue other opportunities. "

Sweeney wasn't worried about the filming gap. “I like it because there's room for personal growth for me and character development for Cassie," Sweeney said. She mentioned being heavily involved in various projects, such as a remake of Jane Fonda's Barbarella and multiple producing opportunities with Fifty-Fifty Films production company."

The actress recently starred in thriller Immaculate and romantic comedy Anyone But You. The latter grossed billions at the box office and was coproduced by Sweeney and fiancé Jonathan Davino. She also starred alongside actor Glen Powell. Sweeney is dedicated to her craft as an actress, aiming to provide people with characters and stories.

"I craft their story, starting from scratch," she told Who What Wear. Sweeney's acting approach involves writing character notes in diaries. "These books are like a journal diary map of my characters, tracing their lives from birth to the first page of the script," she explained on The Drew Barrymore Show in January 2022. "I extract everything from the script and then construct the missing pieces, exploring why she behaves the way she does and uncovering the memories that have shaped her posture and demeanor."

It's the cool, creative process of building people. We become who we are from our unique memories. I have a consistent approach to a character.
