Alex Rodriguez Expresses Satisfaction with Relationship Status with Derek Jeter: 'We're Both in a Positive Position'

Alex Rodriguez talks about his connection with former Yankees star Derek Jeter. We've been friends for over 30 years and played together for a long time. I'm proud of where our relationship is now. I'm proud of him and all his work in media, business, and giving back to the community. We're in a good place and happy working together.

Rodriguez and Jeter, working for FOX Sports, have endured highs and lows in their long-lasting friendship. They first met as teens at a 1993 college baseball game and bonded while playing in the minor league. After turning pro, Rodriguez made a controversial comment about Jeter's talent in a 2001 Esquire interview. "He's never had to lead," Rodriguez said. (Rodriguez was playing for the Texas Rangers at the time, while Jeter was already with the team).

Jeter later confessed that the comments "bothered" him in The Captain, a 2022 docuseries. "I'm loyal as a friend. I viewed it as something I wouldn't have done," he explained. Years after the Esquire interview, Rodriguez confirmed that his friendship with Jeter had faded. But, people exaggerated the situation, making it seem worse than it actually was. "But they're not as great as before," he told the Associated Press in 2007. "We were like blood brothers."

Much better than expected, their overlapping presence on the Yankees from 2004 to 2013 still fascinates fans. Rodriguez said, "It's been an obsession." He mentioned witnessing numerous fans rejoice during Jeter's appearance on their podcast, "The Deal With Alex Rodriguez and Jason Kelly." The reunion brought them great joy. This brings joy to many Yankees fans.

Rodriguez also has a good coparenting bond with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, sharing daughters Natasha (19) and Ella (15) with her. The exes, married from 2002 to 2008, sent Natasha to college last fall. "[Cynthia and I] have prepared her well for the next stage of her life," Rodriguez told media. She's doing well, and we're proud of her. But the distance is tough.

Rodriguez, a loving dad for almost 20 years, took on a new role in a Lysol® ad. He became an equipment manager and cleaned a stinky locker room after losing a bet. With Lysol® Laundry Sanitizer, he easily finishes the task. "I've done laundry as an adult less than five times," Rodriguez admitted. I did it a few times with my daughter, who I just dropped off at University of Michigan. What I learned was that Lysol kills 99% of bacteria. 9% of bacteria, particularly those that cause odors in uniforms. That's a positive. "The Yankees. )"
