Valley star Brittany Cartwright feels "strong" amidst separation from Jax Taylor, says she feels good. "I'm proud of putting my mental health and family first." Cartwright confirmed in February the separation with Taylor after almost five years of marriage. They co-parent their son Cruz, born in 2021.
Cartwright admits to ignoring her own needs by overlooking issues with Taylor too often in the past. "I've forgiven things I shouldn't have over the years, but I've always loved him and stood by him, no matter what," she said. "I'm always defending him, apologizing, and fixing his problems. After nine years, it's exhausting."
"The Bravo star also experiences ups and downs, just like everyone else." Initially, he opposed my departure, but now he seems more open to it. Cartwright and Taylor now live apart. However, divorce is not currently an option. Cartwright admitted thinking about it but is not ready yet. She has been residing in an Airbnb since January.
Parenting is full of ups and downs, especially with kids. Some days I'm like "never coming back," and other times I'm like "we'll see what happens," so it's all up in the air right now. Cartwright is open to dating but wants to find someone great.
Cartwright emphasizes that she and Taylor haven't discussed the details of their separation. "We haven't gone deep into that kind of talk, but I believe part of the separation is about exploring and figuring out what we truly want for our relationship," she stated. "Choosing between reconciliation or pursuing someone new feels strange and overwhelming."
Cartwright would love to have more kids and give Cruz siblings, but it depends on her relationship status with Taylor. She questions if she will be in another relationship or get back with Jax. I'm unsure yet but I won't stay in a relationship just to have another child. I already have Cruz and feel blessed to have him. Some people don't even have one kid, so I'll never take that for granted.
