Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley Separate After Five Years of Marriage

Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley are divorcing after five years of marriage and over a decade together. "After a period of separation, we have decided to part ways," a joint statement on their social media accounts on April 3 said. "We made this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together." Chance and Kirsten, parents of daughters Kensli, 8, and Marli, 4, appreciate the blessings from God. We request privacy and respect during this transition as we continue to co-parent our lovely daughters. Thank you.

In 2015, the rapper revealed he and his girlfriend had a baby, and becoming a dad taught him to love better. "I wanted to make a grand statement about her weight, size, and DOB to show my deep meaning, but it's more fatherly to just thank those who supported us during this pregnancy," he captioned his social media post. The Chicago native married Kirsten in 2019 after six years of dating and has expressed gratitude for his family. "I wake up grateful every day for being married right now," Chance shared with People in 2020. "Living with my wife and daughters under one roof is an incredible blessing that I cherish."

Kirsten, the entrepreneur, has shared rare glimpses into her life with the ‘‘No Problem‘‘ artist. They first met as kids. In a November 2020 Instagram post, she wrote, "I hope you don't see us as the 'perfect family'." ‘‘I hope you see imperfect beings striving to create a loving and gracious home. Marriage is challenging. It's not easy; it challenges you to face hidden parts of yourself. Especially in this season of being home more than usual, it's worth it when both commit to inner work. Be grateful for the family we've made, flaws included. '‘
