Colt Ford, Country Singer, Experiences Heart Attack Post-Arizona Show: Condition Stable but Critical

Country star Colt Ford hospitalized after heart attack following performance in Gilbert, Arizona. 53-year-old had just finished performing at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row when emergency happened. Ford was rushed to ICU at Banner Desert Med Center before being transferred to Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale. His spokesperson told 12 News he's in stable but critical condition.

According to TMZ, Ford seemed fine onstage before the heart attack. He performed a 17-song set for two and a half hours. After his set, Ford bowed with his band before leaving. Shortly after, paramedics treated Ford, co-writer of Jason Aldean's hit ‘‘Dirt Road Anthem,‘‘ from the album My Kinda Party. Ford collaborated with Willie Nelson, the late Toby Keith, Lady A, Chase Rice, and others.

He has had health issues in recent years. In 2021, the singer disclosed his battle with eye cancer, and in 2023, he revealed his diagnosis with Myasthenia Gravis. "Last year I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune disease," Ford shared with Taste of Country in May 2023 while launching his new album, Must Be the Country. "It's been challenging." The past year was extremely difficult for me. It's an incurable disease. According to Mayo Clinic, Myasthenia Gravis (MG) weakens and fatigues voluntary muscles as nerve-muscle communication breaks down.

Ford's recent Instagram post showcased him enjoying Easter Sunday, but he revealed that the disease impacted his right eye, over which he had no control. Currently, the country singer is scheduled to perform at the Wake the Lake Country Festival in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. However, it remains uncertain whether the performance will be canceled or rescheduled.
