Kansas City Chiefs Athlete Rashee Rice Surrenders to Authorities Following Lamborghini Accident

Rashee Rice is facing legal action for a high-speed car crash in Dallas. The Kansas City Chiefs receiver surrendered to police custody for his role in a multi-vehicle collision on March 30th. The Dallas Police Department issued a warrant for Rice's arrest on April 10. It's unclear if he is currently in custody.

The athlete, driving a Lamborghini, is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury. Meanwhile, Southern Methodist University football player Theodore 'Teddy' Knox, driving a Corvette in the crash, is facing the same charges. Investigators think Rice, 23, and Knox, 21, were speeding in luxury cars when they caused a chain reaction crash involving four other vehicles, as stated by police to CNN.

The occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene without stopping to check if anyone needed medical assistance or providing their information. No major injuries were reported, but two people were treated on-site and two others were taken to the hospital for evaluation. After dashcam video of the crash went viral, Rice apologized publicly for his role in the accident. "I apologize and take full responsibility for my involvement in the incident. I will cooperate with authorities and extend my sincere apologies to all affected." Knox, suspended from SMU football team, after arrest warrant issued, per The Daily Campus. Attorney Deandra Grant says, ‘‘We have cooperated with law enforcement, no further comment.‘‘"
