Princess Kate Middleton expresses her gratitude for the many well-wishers who sent their support following the announcement of her cancer diagnosis.
On April 9, a Twitter user named @AllexmarieHoll1 shared a note from Kensington Palace, thanking her for her kind wishes to the 42-year-old royal. The letter acknowledged the gesture, stating, "Your thoughtful gesture is very much appreciated."
The thank-you note from Kate was typed and featured the Kensington Royal stamp, indicating its authenticity. The Princess of Wales' office at Kensington Palace in London welcomes letters from the public.
King Charles III, who also recently received a cancer diagnosis, is also accepting notes. The official website of the monarch mentions that Charles, aged 75, reviews almost all his correspondence daily and takes a keen interest in the letters he receives.
Following her public announcement of the diagnosis in a video released on March 22, Kate has maintained a low profile. She, along with Prince William and their three children, chose to spend the Easter holiday privately, opting out of attending the royal family's traditional church service.
While details about Kate's current condition remain scarce, her uncle Gary Goldsmith provided a rare update on her health during an appearance on the Spanish television show ¡De Viernes! on March 29. He mentioned staying in touch with his sister Carole Middleton to ensure Kate's well-being during this challenging time.
Kensington Palace disclosed in January that Kate had been hospitalized after undergoing planned abdominal surgery and would be taking a break from royal engagements. Before her operation, she had not made any public appearances since December 2023. Kate shared her cancer diagnosis after various conspiracy theories about her whereabouts circulated on social media, expressing gratitude for the support she received from fans during her absence from public events.
Kate emphasized the comfort and reassurance she finds in having William by her side, as well as the love, support, and kindness shown by many well-wishers. She requested understanding from the public for the family's need for privacy and time during her treatment, expressing hope to return to her work once she has fully recovered.
