Ray J, 43, is responding to Princess Love's divorce filing. He is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their two young children, Melody (5) and Epik (4), according to court documents obtained by People on April 4.
Ray J, whose real name is Willie Ray Norwood, asked for the division of assets, including jewelry and personal effects, as well as earnings since their separation which is yet to be determined. He also requested that both parties pay their own attorney fees and postponed the decision on spousal support for Love, aged 39. Ray J is represented by renowned divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
Love filed for divorce from the singer on February 26 and announced their split on Instagram. "Dear loved ones, it is with sadness that we announce our decision to divorce. After much thought, talking, and counseling, we have realized that our paths have diverged and it is best for both of us to separate." Love reassured that the decision to end their relationship was made with thoughtful consideration for each other's well-being.
