Theresa Nist, 70, still wears her custom wedding ring, despite her ongoing divorce from Gerry Turner, 72. The ring has 18 round brilliant cut diamonds. Earlier, Theresa told journalist Juju Chang on Good Morning America that she would have to return the jewelry, as per their agreement with ABC. "I think I have to give this ring back," she said, expressing her sadness about it.

During the segment, Theresa and Gerry revealed that their long distance living situation caused their breakup despite their lingering love for each other. Gerry mentioned their numerous heartfelt conversations on the show. "We've carefully examined our living situations and mutually agreed that it's time for us to end our marriage. What stands out to me the most in our conversations is our shared devotion to our families."

Turner filed for divorce in their hometown of Petersburg, Indiana, citing the happiness of both as the reason for living apart. He cited the "irretrievable breakdown" of their marriage as the reason for the split. They have a prenuptial agreement and never lived together. They had dreams of living in South Carolina.
